Every summer The Arc of East Central Iowa provides a safe and productive environment in both Linn and Benton counties, for children and teenagers with disabilities who might otherwise have to stay home alone.

At Summer Day Program, a child between the ages of 7 and 21 with substantial care and medical needs has the opportunity to experience new activities, make friends, and build self-esteem in a safe environment.

The children who participate in our program have been diagnosed with profound mental retardation, Down syndrome, autism, Asperger’s syndrome, hearing and visual impairments, cerebral palsy, behavioral disorders, or other cognitive disabilities. They rely on The Arc’s Summer Day Program to provide them with the type of summer fun all kids want, need, and deserve - regardless of mental or physical limitations.

Staff to participant ratio surpasses all day care requirements.

Due to the increasing popularity of our programs The Arc is in need of donated supplies for continued success.
